Romanians eat lesser meat than their fellow europeans

A recent survey states that the average romanian eats about 64 kilograms of meat in a year's time. That's about 140 lb. Poverty, in my opinion, allong with strong belief in god are the most important factors. The orthodox church prohibits eating meat, eggs and milk on Wednesdays and Fridays, and on certain ocasions prior to Christmas and Easter. The averadge meat consumption in the EU is 80 kg. A forecast indicates that romanians will consume meat at european standars as early as 2013.
